As you move around with the app, map tiles are revealed in real-time based on your precise location. The more you explore, the more of the map you uncover. Your exploration progress is automatically saved to your account and syncs across all your devices.
Quests are AI-generated exploration challenges that send you to interesting nearby destinations. Choose your mood (like "coffee," "nature," or "surprise me") and time available, and the AI will create a personalized quest with voice-guided navigation. Complete quests to discover new places and clear more map tiles.
Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services on your iPhone, find Sidequest, and select "Always" for the best experience. This allows the app to track your exploration and generate quests even when running in the background.
Tap any place on the map or in your spots to start a conversation with our AI assistant. Ask for recommendations, get details about places, or chat about what to do in an area. The AI learns from your preferences to provide better suggestions over time.
Go to Profile > Settings > Import Location Data. The app will scan your photo library for location metadata and reveal map tiles for places you've visited before. This helps populate your exploration history from past travels.
Each day you get curated places near you based on your exploration patterns and preferences. Swipe through discoveries and save interesting ones to your Want to Go list. Set your daily discovery goal in the app settings.
Yes! Use the Friends tab to invite friends with invite codes. Once connected, you can share your favorite spots, see their recommendations, and explore together. Shared spots appear with a friend badge.
Premium unlocks advanced features like enhanced quest generation, additional AI chat capabilities, detailed exploration analytics, and exclusive discovery content. You can upgrade through the app's subscription screen.
Email riley@trysidequest.us to request account deletion. We'll permanently delete your account and all associated data including spots, exploration history, AI conversations, and social connections.
